Leane Morin
Leane is an artist and children's book illustrator with a background in Early Childhood Education. She has also been an elementary school librarian and works part time in the children's room at her local library. She has illustrated two award-winning picture books called Shy Mama's Halloween and The Carpet Boy's Gift.
Quick History: From Painted Turtle Illustration to Firefly Sky!
We are Leane and Kate, a Mother/Daughter team located in the great state of Maine. We launched as Painted Turtle Illustration in August of 2016, starting with a line of t-shirts for kids. We quickly expanded into infant and adult T-shirts, and launched a line of greeting cards. Kate, who was home with her two young children, did the marketing, social media and built the website. It didn't take long for Leane to realize that designing and painting greeting cards was what she really wanted to do. Too much time ironing shirts! Kate has returned to her teaching career but is still involved in many aspects of the business. We believe in greeting cards. We believe in the power of words and images to uplift, inspire, and connect us all. Be well!
